Testimonial About Relocating to WNC: We vacationed in WNC for about 3 years and decided we would enjoy living here. We went home and sold our house and moved to the mountains. We have not regretted it for a minute. Although the job market is slow and the salaries in this area are low, we find living here worth the difference. We enjoy having seasons and enjoying the mountains.

Testimonial About Relocating to WNC: Before we retired to the Waynesville area about six years ago, we spent our adult lives working in Atlanta. It was very fast-paced, hectic, nonstop -- and sometimes that is exactly what we needed to do -- stop. We first visited the Cataloochee area in the late ‘80’s. We did not want to leave and thereafter found it hard to wait until we could return for a long weekend. We began to experience the awesome presence of these ancient mountains. Their majesty unfolded to us in the valleys and on the mountaintops. Beside babbling brooks and rushing streams. In dense woods and rhododendron thickets. On mountaintop balds and along hiking trails. Wildflowers ablaze in the woods and scattered at our feet. God showed us a place to stop, relax, let go, be silent, and seek His peace in the midst of our ever-present busyness. A place to come away from the hectic, frenzied schedules, noise, and words grabbing at you from every side. We came here permanently as soon as we our children were through college. They love to come and bring their friends and show them all the things they learned to treasure. And yes, they have learned the need to come to a place that is larger than their imagination -- to Western North Carolina.
